The Rural Services Network is the national champion for rural services in England. The network works hard to ensure that rural people and their communities have a strong rural voice. We campaign for a fair deal for rural communities to ensure that they maintain and enhance their social and economic well-being. The Network has the support of over 140 Local Authorities, over 100 Rural Health members, over 10,000 grass root organisations and at least 25,000 people gain access to the network?s weekly emailed Newsletter and bulletins.

The official kick-off date of the project is the 3rd of May 2018 when the contract between the Commission Services and the Consortium was signed by MemEx Srl. Preparatory activities have started since the 1st April 2018 and on the 10-11th April a first internal meeting has been held in Bucharest with the participation of all members of the consortium; the agenda and the minutes of the meeting are available on request.

After receiving the Contract by the Commission, a virtual Kick-off meeting has been held on the 9th of May, with the participation of all members of the consortium. A  further internal meeting has been held in Brussels on 24th May, attended by all members of the consortium. This was primarily to align the data gathering activities for the analysis of rural area’s mobility challenges, market and policy context and emerging good practices.

The official Kick-off meeting with the Commission Services has been held on the 25th May in Brussels at which all Consortium members attended.
