Romania

Romania is, currently, to a large extent, a rural state. 99.2% of the Romanian territory is rural, and hosts more than 45% of the Romanian citizens. As poverty
is spatially concentrated in the North-East region, the share of poor in some of its counties is more than ten times higher than that in the capital Bucharest.
