Lithuania

Lithuania covers an area of 65,000 km² of which 85% is rural. Farmland comprises 60% of the area. Most of the rest is forest (32%). 32,8 percent of Lithuanian residents live in the rural areas (as of 01/2018). Rural depopulation is an increasing problem in Lithuania and regions are more and more facing the negative effects of this development.
